On 24 June 2005 Roskosmos and Space Adventures (USA) concluded a contract for a flight of Gregory Olsen, the U.S. citizen to the Russian Segment of the ISS as a spaceflight participant of the visiting crew 9 (VC 9).
When staying onboard the ISS RS Gregory Olsen will perform the utilization program and a number of scientific experiments of the European Space Agency.

Brief Description
1.
Work demonstration using infra-red camera SU 320 MX
2.
Participation in real-time MCC-ISS RS-MCC TV bridge
3.
Radio amateur sessions
4.
Observation and photo imagery of various areas of the Earth using a high resolution camera
5.
Conduct of video and photo imagery on the ISS RS
6.
Symbolics activity on the ISS RS video filming of the educational program subject
7.
Performance of ESA experiments: SAMPLE, MUSCLE, MOP


The utilization program requires the following resources:

LOGISTICS

Delivery of cargoes to the ISS RS (including personal items)

up to 15 kg

Return of cargoes       up to 5 kg

CREW TIME

up to 30 hours
