Progress M-NM spacecraft-module is mated to the adapter section

November 14, 2021

Specialists from RSC Energia and core companies of Roscosmos completed a sequence of processing operations to mate cargo transportation spacecraft-module Progress M-NM to the adapter section of the third stage of the launch vehicle (LV) at the integration and test facility in Area 254 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.

The adapter section is a part of the ascent unit and provides a mechanical link between the spacecraft and the payload fairing, as well as integration of the Progress M-NM with Node Module Prichal command interface into the onboard control system of the Soyuz-2.1b LV. Upon completion of the mating activities the onboard radio complex and other support systems were exposed to checkout activations.

The universal Node Module Prichal developed and produced by S.P.Korolev RSC Energia is designed to increase technical and operational capabilities of the ISS Russian Segment. The launch of the Prichal NM within Progress M-NM by launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1b is planned for November 24, 2021.
