Spacecraft-Module Progress M-NM solar array check

November 5, 2021

Prelaunch processing of the cargo transportation spacecraft-module Progress M-NM carrying Node Module (NM) Prichal is in good progress in the processing facility of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Today a planned operation of test insolation of solar arrays of the spacecraft-module onboard power supply system was performed in the integration and test facility of Site 254.

For functional check of the solar arrays, specialists from RSC Energia performed standard deployment of photovoltaic panels and their artificial insolation using powerful lamps to record parameters of solar power conversion into electric power. In addition to this, processing of cargo and hardware to be delivered to the International Space Station (ISS) is being completed.

The multi-purpose Node Module Prichal developed and built by S.P.Korolev RSC Energia is designed to enhance the engineering and operational capabilities of the International Space Station Russian Segment. The launch of NM Prichal as part of spacecraft-module Progress M-NM using Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle is scheduled for November 24, 2021.
