September 9, 2021

Today, September 9, 2021, at 04:55 Moscow Time, during automatic charging of storage batteries, a smoke sensor went off and activated alarms in the Service Module Zvezda of the Russian Segment of the International Space Station.

To remove the potential smoke contamination, the crew activated the atmosphere scrubber assembly the equipment for purifying the onboard air. After scrubbing the atmosphere, the ISS-65 crew continued their night rest.

According tot the Lead Operations Control Team for the Russian Segment of the station (S.P.Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, which is a part of State Corporation Roscosmos) all the systems operate normally, the air composition onboard the station meets the required standards.

The crew continue their normal preparations for todays spacewalk.
