Node Module Prichal tests started at Baikonur

August 24, 2021

In the processing facility at Baikonur cosmodrome work began under the program of pre-flight tests on the cargo transportation spacecraft/module (CTSC/M) Progress M-NM with Node Module (NM) Prichal of the International Space Station Russian Segment (ISS RS).

Upon completion of the official incoming inspection procedure on the Prichal NM, RSC Energia specialists assembled the ground testing equipment and the test setup at the work station of the vehicle in the assembly at testing facility of Site 254. In accordance with the schedule of preparations for standalone electric tests of NM Prichal the test support onboard cabling was installed and the power supply circuits were checked on the vehicle stationed in the integrated testing facility in Room 104. The program of electric tests calls for long-duration test activations of equipment within the onboard systems of the Node Module in order to check their functioning in various docking configurations.

The multi-purpose Node Module Prichal developed and built by S.P.Korolev RSC Energia is designed to enhance the engineering and operational capabilities of the ISS RS. The launch of the NM Prichal into a low Earth orbit and its docking with the nadir port on the multi-purpose laboratory module Nauka are scheduled for November of 2021.
