Module Prichal at Processing Facility of Baikonur Cosmodrome

August 11, 2021

Cargo transportation spacecraft-module Progress -N carrying Prichal Node Module (NM) has been delivered to the integration and test facility (ITF) of the Baikonur Cosmodrome to continue the assembly and prelaunch testing program at the processing facility.

This morning, Progress M-NM was unloaded and transferred to ITF in Area 254. In room 104 RSC Energia specialists installed the Progress instrumentation and propulsion compartment (IPC) and Prichal NM at the worksites, and then embarked on assembly and deployment of the ground automated test system of the processing facility. Within the spacecraft incoming inspection procedure IPC was exposed to visual inspection, and deployment mechanisms of Progress M-NM solar array panels were checked.

A multi-purpose Node Module Prichal developed and produced by S.P.Korolev RSC Energia is intended to expand technical and operational capabilities of the Russian Segment of the International Space Station (ISS RS). The launch of the Prichal NM to a near-earth orbit and docking to the nadir port of the ISS RS multi-purpose laboratory module Nauka is planned for November 2021.
