Cosmonautics Day at Energia

April 13, 2021

On April 12, RSC Energia hosted festive events arranged to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight.

At the solemn meeting V.A. Soloviev, First Deputy General Designer for Flight Operation, Testing of Rocket and Space Complexes and Systems of RSC Energia congratulated the Corporation and plant employees with the event, that marked the beginning of a new era of space exploration. In his speech he stated that the corporate team never stopped and reached new heights, despite any difficulties. Indeed, people with well-grounded knowledge and of selfless labour have always worked here.

The corporate team was also congratulated on their professional holiday by the Governor of the Moscow Region A.Yu. Vorobiev, head of the city of Korolev A.N. Khodyrev, State Duma Deputy D.B. Kravchenko, and grandchildren of the Chief Designer A.V. Korolev and S.V. Korolev.

By tradition, this day, flowers were laid at the commemorative plaques, busts and monuments to S.P. Korolev and Yu.A. Gagarin at the enterprise and in the city of Korolev, as well as to the burial places of the first cosmonaut and the Chief Designer at the Kremlin wall.

The Corporation Museum held an Open Day for the corporate employees, where one could have a look at new interesting documents, in particular, the pre-flight cardiogram of Yu.A. Gagarin made on the evening of April 11, 1961, or a list of the suggested names for the first spacecraft written by S.P.Korolev. Movies "The first manned spaceflight" and "Way to the stars is open" were shown in the Corporation conference hall.
