![]() NewsProgress ÌS-16 mated to the adapter sectionFebruary 7, 2021The processing of the cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-16 for the launch under the program of the 77th re-supply mission to the International Space Station continues at the Baikonur Launch Site. Today specialists from RSC Energia and core companies of Roscosmos completed a sequence of operations to mate cargo transportation spacecraft (CTS) Progress MS-16 to the adapter section of the third stage of the launch vehicle (LV) at the integration and test facility. The adapter section is a part of the ascent unit and provides a mechanical link between the spacecraft and the payload fairing, as well as integration of Progress MS-16 command interface into the onboard control system of the Soyuz-2.1a LV. Upon completion of the mating activities the spacecraft onboard radio complex and other support systems were exposed to checkout activations. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying Progress MS-16 is scheduled for February15, 2021 from Area 31 of the Baikonur Launch Site
