Spacecraft Soyuz MS-17 mated to adapter section

October 2, 2020

Pre-launch processing continues at Baikonur cosmodrome of the manned transportation spacecraft (MTS) Soyuz MS-17.

In accordance with the schedule, specialists from RSC Energia and core companies of Roscosmos completed the sequence of operations to mate the manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz MS-17 to the adapter section of the third stage of the launch vehicle. The adapter section is a part of the ascent unit and provides a mechanical link between the spacecraft and the payload fairing, as well as integration of the Soyuz MS-17 command interface into the onboard control system of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle.

The launch of the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1a carrying the Soyuz MS-17 under the program of Expeditions 63 and 64 to the International Space Station is scheduled for October 14, 2020 from the Baikonur launch site.
