Spacecraft Soyuz MS-17 filled with propellant components and compressed gases

At Baikonur launch, site specialists from RSC Energia and core companies of Roscosmos have completed the operations to load the manned spacecraft Soyuz MS-17 with propellant components and compressed gases.

After fuelling operations, the spacecraft was delivered to the processing facility of Area 254 and installed into the dynamic test stand for further pre-launch processing operations, which include stowage of payloads and installation of multi-layer insulation, spacecraft weight check and its mating with the launch vehicle adaptor section.

The launch of the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1a carrying the Soyuz MS-17 under the program of Expeditions 63 and 64 to the International Space Station is scheduled for October 14, 2020 from the Baikonur launch site. Continuing their flight training at the launch site is the prime crew of the spacecraft consisting of commander Sergei Ryzhikov (Roscosmos), flight engineer 1 Sergey Kud-Sverchkov (Roscosmos) and flight engineer 2 Kathleen Rubins (NASA). The backup crew consists of Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitski and Petr Dubrov and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei.
