Contract between RSC Energia and Space Adventures

June 25, 2020

RSC Energia and Space Adventures Inc. (USA) have signed a contract to fly in 2023 a short mission with two spaceflight participants onboard a Soyuz MS spacecraft to the Russian Segment of the International Space Station (ISS).

It is planned that in the course of the mission one of the spaceflight participants will go on a spacewalk from the ISS Russian Segment together with a professional Russian cosmonaut.

Earlier, in the period of 2001 to 2009, RSC Energia and Roscosmos completed under contracts with Space Adventures Inc. eight short commercial missions to the ISS Russian Segment on Soyuz spacecraft. The space tourists were: Dennis Tito (USA, 2001), Mark Shuttleworth (UK, 2002), Gregory Olsen (USA, 2006), Anousheh Ansari (USA, 2006), Richard Garriott (USA, 2008), Charles Simonyi (USA, 2007, 2009) and Guy Laliberte (Canada, 2009).
