Progress MS-15 has passed tests in the anechoic chamber

June 23, 2020

Stand-alone tests of the onboard radio systems of the Progress MS-15 cargo transportation spacecraft in the anechoic chamber of the integration and test facility (ITF) at Area 254 of the Baikonur launch site are completed.

The anechoic chamber is a special-purpose room covered with radar absorbing material to simulate space environment. During the day, specialists from RSC Energia and SC Yuzhny performed operations on functionality check of the radio equipment of the Kurs-NA system, which ensures rendezvous and docking of Progress MS-15 with the International Space Station (ISS). After testing the spacecraft was installed in the ITF dynamic stand for further prelaunch processing.

Progress MS-15 unmanned cargo spacecraft shall deliver to the 63rd Expedition crew propellant, water and gas reserves, as well as life support equipment and space experiment kits under the 76th mission of the ISS re-supply program.
