![]() NewsSoyuz MS-16 Crews Performed a Check Inspection of the SpacecraftApril 3, 2020The participants of the forthcoming expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) performed the second “fit check”, i.e. check inspection of Soyuz MS-16 manned transport spacecraft in the launch configuration at the Baikonur Launch Site. The prime and backup crewmembers performed a final check of the spacecraft readiness, familiarized with the payloads and operating equipment accommodation in the descent module and habitation compartment, as well as checked functionality of the Soyuz MS-16 onboard systems. The launch of the upgraded Soyuz 2.1a launch vehicle with Soyuz MS-16 to the International Space Station is scheduled for April 9, 2020. The prime crew of Soyuz MS-16 consists of commander Anatoly Ivanishin (Roscosmos), flight-engineer 1 Ivan Vagner (Roscosmos) and flight engineer 2 Christopher Cassidy (NASA). Their backups are Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Andrey Babkin and NASA astronaut Stephen Bowen.
