Progress MS-14 solar array check complete

April 2, 2020

At the processing facility of Area 254 of the Baikonur launch site preparations continue for the launch of the manned transportation spacecraft Progress MS-14. Yesterday, specialists from RSC Energia and Space Center Yuzhny successfully completed a scheduled operation of check insolation for the solar arrays of the spacecraft power supply system.

A functional check of the solar array panels involves a standard deployment of photovoltaic sections and their artificial insolation with powerful lamps to take test measurements of parameters of the electric circuits of solar power converters. In addition to this, work continues to install special equipment into the descent vehicle and prepare the crew personal equipment.

The launch of the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1a carrying the cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-14 to the International Space Station is scheduled for April 25, 2020 from the Baikonur launch site under the 75th mission of the ISS re-supply program. The launch is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
