![]() NewsDesigner’s inspection of Soyuz MS-16 and encapsulation of the fairingApril 1, 2020At the Baikonur launch site the pre-launch processing of manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz MS-16 for launch on April 9 to the International Space Station (ISS) under the ISS-62/63 expeditions program is in progress. According to the processing schedule, the specialists from RSC Energia and specialized enterprises of Roscosmos conducted a designer’s inspection of Soyuz MS-16 at the integration and test facility bench, performed processing operations on encapsulation of the fairing, and checked the launch readiness of the spacecraft within the ascent unit. The prime crew of Soyuz MS-16 consists of commander Anatoly Ivanishin (Roscosmos), flight-engineer 1 Ivan Vagner (Roscosmos) and flight engineer 2 Christopher Cassidy (NASA). Their backups are Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Andrey Babkin and NASA astronaut Stephen Bowen.
