Progress MS-14 vacuum chamber tests complete

March 27, 2020

Specialists from RSC Energia and Space Center Yuzhnyi working at the Baikonur launch site have successfully completed leak tests on the cargo transportation spacecraft (CTS) Progress MS-14 in the vacuum chamber of the Area 254 processing facility.

A cycle of pneumatic and vacuum tests on large-sized space hardware using a helium-air mixture inside the volumes that are being checked is the most objective on-the-ground inspection method to assure compliance with strict requirements for pressure integrity of the modules and onboard systems of the vehicle.

The launch of the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1a carrying the cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-14 to the International Space Station is scheduled for April 25, 2020 from the Baikonur launch site. The cargo transportation spacecraft will deliver to the ISS 63 Expedition crew supplies of propellant and gases, as well as life support and systems equipment under the 75th mission of the ISS re-supply program.
