Testing of the Soyuz MS-16 spacecraft in the vacuum chamber has been completed

March 13, 2020

At the Baikonur cosmodrome specialists of RSC Energia and the Yuzhny Space Center completed the leak tests of the Soyuz MS-16 manned transport spacecraft in the vacuum chamber of the assembly & testing facilities of site 254.

The test cycle of large-sized space technology in the vacuum chamber using a helium-air medium in test volumes is the most objective method to control stringent requirements for pressure integrity of compartments and onboard systems in ground conditions.

The launch of the modernized Soyuz-2.1 launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-16 manned transport spacecraft to the International Space Station is scheduled for April 9, 2020 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
