Council of Chief Designers for Space Rocket System (SRS) Soyuz-5

On February 12 RSC Energia hosted Council of Chief Designers (CCD) for Space Rocket System (SRS) Soyuz-5 chaired by General Director of RSC Energia, Chief Designer of SRS Soyuz-5 Nikolai Sevastianov.

N.N. Sevastianov reported on the main results of work and the implementation of decisions adopted by the Council of Chief Designers for SRS Soyuz-5. He emphasized that one of the main tasks is to make the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle (LV) competitive in the launch services market.

At the meeting technical decisions to improve economic efficiency of SRS Soyuz-5, the ground development test program and the management of work to create a ground-based space infrastructure at the Baikonur commodore within the Baiterek Space Center were considered.

Speakers at the CCD meeting were: Deputy General Director for Rocket Production, operation of the ground-based space infrastructure, quality and reliability assurance A.P. Lopatin, Executive Director for launch vehicles and operation of the ground-based space infrastructure A V. Mazurin, General Designer of launch vehicles and the ground-based space infrastructure, Deputy General Director of TsNIImash A.A. Medvedev, General Director of RSC Progress D.A. Baranov, Chief Designer of the Soyuz-5 LV A.A. Cherevan, Deputy Chief Designer of TsENKI-NIISK R.I. Yakhin.

Also reports were made by: Deputy Project Director for the development of SC GACC, CMC and information and telecommunication systems of RSS V.A. Moiseev, Head of Division of NPTsAP M.L.
