In late January RSC Energia hosted a meeting of the first deputy general director for development of the orbital constellation and advanced projects of State Corporation Roscosmos Y.M. Urlichich, executive director for manned space programs of State Corporation Roscosmos S.K. Krikalev and general director of RSC Energia N.N. Sevastianov with young scientists and specialists of RSC Energia and TsNIIMash.

According to the International Space Station Program on January 23, 2020 a two-phase orbital reboost of the station was performed.

The propulsion system of Progress MS-13 cargo vehicle docked to PIRS module was activated at 17:15 Moscow time. The engines operation for 563 seconds resulted in the ISS velocity increment of 0.56 m/s. At 20:23 Moscow time the vehicle engines were re-activated, their operation time was already 282 seconds. As a result the station acquired a velocity increment of 0,28 m/s.
On Saturday, January 18, an awards ceremony was held at RSC Energia for winners of the annual XXI City Competition for Young Scientists and Specialists named after Sergei Pavlovich Korolev. For the twentieth year running, awards to young people who are engaged in scientific and practical innovative projects in the space and rocket industry, were presented at the Corporation museum.
60th anniversary of the R-7 missile entering operational service

60 years ago, on January 20, 1960, by the decree of the USSR Government, the world’s first Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) R-7 entered operational service in the Strategic Missile Forces. The super long range missile system, developed by the team of OKB-1 (now known as RSC Energia) headed by the Chief Designer Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, not only became the basis for the nuclear-missile shield of the country, but also ushered in the space age for the whole of mankind.

By the late 1950s, rocket engineering in our country reached the state of the art which made it possible to start working on sending man into space. To successfully achieve this challenging and important goal, in 1959, OKB-1 (now known as RSC Energia) headed by its Chief Designer Sergei Pavlovich Korolev made a decision to develop the world's first manned spacecraft Vostok. At the same time, the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, also with direct participation of the Chief Designer of OKB-1, was taking a historic decision to involve fighter pilots into the first space crews.
RSC Energia held special events to mark the 113th anniversary of academician Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, an outstanding designer, father of our country’s rocket technology and spaceflight, whose name is born by Energia corporation and our town.

As is tradition, a delegation from the company, headed by the general director – general designer of RSC Energia N.N.Sevastianov, together with representatives from administration of the urban district of Korolev, cosmonauts and veterans, laid flowers at memorial plaques on the building where Sergei Korolev worked, and on the house where the Chief Designer lived, at the bust of S.P.Korolev on the company premises, and at the monument in town on the avenue named after him.
Today, January 12, marks the 113th anniversary of an outstanding designer, a pioneer in our country’s rocket technology and the father of space flight, the Chief Designer of OKB-1, academician Sergei Pavlovich Korolev.
The 120th anniversary of the birth of V.G. Grabin

The team of OKB-1 led by Sergei Pavlovich Korolev developed the world's first intercontinental ballistic missile R-7, which became the basis for a family of multistage space launch vehicles, and built the first artificial satellites of Earth and robotic probes sent to the Moon, Venus and Mars. On April 12, 1961, the manned spacecraft Vostok built at our company accomplished the world’s first manned mission into space.
January 9 is the 120th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Soviet designer and organizer of the production of artillery systems Colonel General of Technical Troops, Hero of Socialist Labor, Doctor of Sciences, four times winner of Stalin Prize First Class, Honorary Citizen of the Korolev city district, Vasily Gavrilovich Grabin.
