RSC Energia employees take part in Conference Manned Space Flight

The XIII-th International Practical-Scientific Conference Manned Space Flights opened at the Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.

Head of Cosmonaut Training Center (CTC) P.N. Vlasov, Deputy Director General of State Corporation Roscosmos M.N. Khailov, pilot-cosmonaut of the first cosmonaut detachment, twice Hero of the Soviet Union B.V. Volynov, as well as representatives of NASA and JAXA greeted the Conference participants. Cosmonauts Oleg Skripochka and Aleksandr Skvortsov congratulated all those present with the beginning of the conference from the ISS.

At the plenary session General Director General Designer of RSC Energia N.N. Sevastianov made report Prospects for the Russian manned program.

First Deputy Head of CTC M.M. Kharlamov told about work of the Cosmonaut Training Center on the threshold of its 60th anniversary. Biomedical aspects of safety of human flights beyond the near-Earth space were presented in the report of Director of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences O.I. Orlov.

Within a framework of the conference, a round table was held which was devoted to the main test results of anthropomorphic robot Skybot F-850 onboard the ISS and prospects for further use of robotic systems in space activities. Test cosmonaut, Head of Scientific and Technical Center of RSC Energia A.Yu. Kaleri told about the history, goals and results of the experiment.

Employees of RSC Energia take an active part in the conference with reports on the professional activity of cosmonauts, applied research and experiments in space, as well as on extravehicular activity (EVA).
