TsAGI completed a test phase of crew transportation spacecraft Orel

Zhukovsky TsAGI (Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, which is a part of the Scientific Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”) has completed a phase of testing on the Crew Transportation Spacecraft (CTS) Orel, which is being developed at the Korolev RSC Energia (which is a part of the State Corporation Roscosmos).

The ISO competitive program included several types of activities: review of creative projects, academic competitions in technical disciplines and humanities, as well as practical teamwork on space-themed cases.
The training of Roscosmos cosmonauts and astronauts at sea take place in Sochi based on the Imeretinsky general-purpose sea terminal. The training is participated by RSC Energia specialists.

Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center holds training sessions at sea for the first time over a period of 12 years. Prior to that, the training was held at the base of the Ministry for Emergency Situations near Noginsk, however, the working conditions of cosmonauts at sea are close to real ones.
The center for technology development and personnel training of the Experimental Machine-building Plant of RSC Energia held design reviews for the projects submitted by participants in the 27th International Space Olympics (ISO) of high-school students.

Spacecraft Soyuz ÌS-12 crew returned to the Earth

Aleksei Leonov added his name to history of the Universe exploration on March 18, 1965 when he did an extravehicular activity for the first time in the world. He performed his second flight into the earth orbit in 1975 as commander of Soyuz-19 spacecraft. Then under the Soviet-American Soyuz-Apollo Program the docking of two spacecraft of two countries was implemented for the first time.
The crewmembers of manned spacecraft Soyuz ÌS-12, which today had undocked from the International Space Station (ISS), successfully returned to the ground. The descending module carrying cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin, astronaut Nick Hague and spaceflight participant from UAE Hazza Al Mansouri landed on October 3, 2019 at 14:00 Moscow time.

Specialists from RSC Energia and space center Yuzhny completed leak tests of the spacecraft systems and compartments in vacuum chamber using a helium-air mixture.
