RSC Energia developed a one-orbit rendezvous profile

The RSC Energia specialists developed a one-orbit flight profile of SC which implies rendezvous with the International Space Station within about 2 hours.

The main advantage of such a profile is the reduction of the time spent by cosmonauts in a small volume of SC. One more advantage of this one-orbit rendezvous profile is a quick delivery of various biomaterials to the Station to conduct scientific experiments onboard the ISS. In addition, the quicker is the spacecraft rendezvous with the station, the more is the saving of propellant and other resources required to support the flight.
On April 19, 1971 there was a launch of the world's first long-duration orbital station (LDOS) Salyut.
Energia celebrated the Cosmonautics Day

The station development began in late 1969. Yu.P. Semenov was appointed as lead designer of the project. When working on LDOS the following was used: existing hardware of the orbital module of the Almaz military station the work on which was performed at TsKBM, and the onboard systems of the Soyuz spacecraft.
On April 12, the staff of RSC Energia, the leading company in the Russian rocket and space industry, celebrated their professional holiday.
Victor Blagov passed away

In the morning, Nikolai Sevastianov and representatives of RSC Energia within a Roscosmos delegation headed by Dmitri Rogozin took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the burial sites of S.P. Korolev and Y.A. Gagarin in the Kremlin wall.
Celebrations on the corporate premises began with the traditional laying of flowers to the memorial plaques to Sergei Korolev and Valentin Glushko. After that a delegation of the company’s employees visited other memorial sites in the town of science.

Cargo transport vehicle Progress MS-11 docked with the ISS

He dedicated his life to space. Milestones in his life are the milestones in the development of space industry.
Victor Blagov joined Energia in 1959 after graduating from Moscow Aviation Institute. He rose through the ranks from an engineer to deputy head of division/head of department. He took part in designing crew transportation spacecraft Vostok and Voskhod, in preapations for and conduct of the first joint international mission of Soyuz-19 and Apollo spacecraft.
On April 4 at 17:25 Moscow time cargo transport vehicle (CTV) Progress MS-11 developed and manufactured by RSC Energia successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS).

The docking occurred in the automatic mode. The final approach process was controlled from the Station by Russian cosmonauts – the ISS crew commander Oleg Kononenko and flight engineer Aleksei Ovchinin.
Today, on April 4, at 14:01 Moscow time, the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Progress MS-11 cargo transport vehicle (CTV) developed and manufactured by RSC Energia was successfully launched from Pad No. 31 of the Baikonur Launch Site.

According to telemetry information, the separation of the vehicle from the launch vehicle stage III passed normally. The deployment of antennas and solar arrays was recorded. The vehicle was under control of specialists of the Lead Operational Control Team of the International Space Station Russian Segment (LOCT ISS RS) at MCC.
The management and the personnel of RSC Energia offer sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Natalia Fileva. Her premature death was an irreplaceable loss for the entire aerospace industry of the country.

Today, on April 1 launch vehicle Soyuz 2.1a with cargo transport vehicle (CTV) Progress MS-11 was rolled out from the assembly and test facility and erected on launch pad No. 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The L-2 days processing activities began.
The launch teams of RSC Energia specialists and other enterprises of Roscosmos are performing prelaunch processing operations at the launch site. Prelaunch tests of the rocket and space complex systems and assemblies are being conducted, the onboard hardware and the ground equipment interface is being checked out.
