At the Baikonur cosmodrome work is in progress for prelaunch pocessing of the Angosat spacecraft made to order of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologics of the Republic of Angola and intended to provide communication and television boadcasting to the territory of the Republic of Angola and the entire African continent.

Work has been carried out to inspect the spacecraft after transportation, as well as the analysis of telemetry information of transportation conditions has been made. The spacecraft is prepared for docking with the Fregat-SB Upper Stage.

The electrical tests of the onboard sytems of the Zenit-2 launch vehicle have been completed in full scope and the planned prelaunch processing continues..

The Fregat-SB Upper Stage is filled with compressed gases and the oxidizer. When it was refueled a technical off-nominal situation occurred which was related to the operation of one of the Upper Stage valves.

To clarify the cause of this off-nominal situation a Commission was organized, which included specialists of State Corporation ROSCOSMOS, RSC Energia and developer of the Upper Stage, namely Lavochkin NPO. The Commission found the cause of the contingency situation and developed a program for its removal. Then the Commission will determine the order of further work and make a conclusion about the capability of launching at the date indicated earlier or at a reserve date.

The contract for the development of the Angosat spacecraft between RSC Energia and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Angola was concluded in 2009 but it became valid in 2013 only.

The objective difficulties which occurred in the process of this long-term contract were solved due to the joint efforts of RSC Energia and State Corporation ROSCOSMOS. In paritcular, work of international cooperation was organized, tasks of import substitution of electonic component base for the spacecraft Service Module were solved. In addition, a decision was found to indentify the Integrated Launch Vehicle for the Angosat SC launch.
