RSC Energia on Vostochny Space Festival

A group of specialists from RSC Energia flight and test department led by pilot-cosmonaut Alexander Kaleri took part in the All-Russian Festival of Cosmonautics Clubs Cosmofest Vostochny 2017.

Representatives of RSC Energia delegation participated in the panel discussion and working meeting with the management and employees of the cosmodrome.

During the tour, the specialists observed the launch pad of the Soyuz launch vehicles, the mobile service tower, command post and test stations, as well as processing facilities.

They visited the phase 2 construction sites of the Cosmodrome, i.e. the launch site of the heavy-weight launch vehicle, integration and test facility of the manned spacecraft, prelaunch crew training facility.

The All-Russian festival of cosmonautics clubs Cosmofest Vostochny 2017 is a unique educational project, unparalleled anywhere in Russia. The festival began on April 27 at the premises of the Amur State University, and on April 28 it was held in the city of Tsiolkovsky and Vostochny Cosmodrome.

Among 700 participants are students of the Moscow Aviation Institute, Siberian State Aerospace University (Krasnoyarsk), Samara State Aerospace University, Omsk State Technical University, Pacific State University and the Far Eastern State Communications University, Harbin Polytechnic University.

The festival objective is to promote the achievements of Russian cosmonautics, attract young scientists and specialists to the rocket and space industry, as well as involve young people in research, inventive and other creative activities.

The festival was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, SC ROSCOSMOS, Government of the Amur Region, United Rocket and Space Corporation, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Amur State University.

RSC Energia is the leading enterprise of rocket and space industry, the prime organization for manned space systems. The Corporation is working to develop unmanned and rocket systems (launch vehicles and interorbital transfer vehicles), high-tech systems for various applications to be used in non-space fields. Since August 2014 the Corporation is headed by Vladimir Solntsev.

SC ROSCOSMOS is the State Corporation established in August 2015 to carry out a comprehensive reform of the Russian rocket and space industry. State Corporation ROSCOSMOS ensures the implementation of the state policy in the field of space activities and their normative legal regulation, as well as places orders to develop, manufacture and deliver space technology and objects of space infrastructure. The State Corporation is also responsible for development of the International cooperation in the space area and creation of conditions for the use of the results of space activities in the socio-economic development of Russia.
