Dear veterans, employees of RSC Energia, colleagues and partners,

April 11, 2017

On behalf of RSC Energia management, let me congratulate you on the Cosmonautics Day! On April 12, 1961 Yuri Gagarin, a brave lad from Smolensk, demonstrated to the entire world that a human being can live and work in space.

His legendary words Off we go! ushered in the age of Mans conquest of space. It was not just a mission, it was a leap into the abyss, into the Unknown. The news of that morning in April shook the entire world the first earthling had visited space!

But we, like nobody else, understand that this mission wouldnt have happened without the contribution of the outstanding people who stayed behind on Earth. Those people who had built the spacecraft, the launch vehicle, the launch pad, developed control and life support systems, provided communications and did a lot of other things. Those who used slide rules and math equations to calculate all the spacecraft motion parameters and the location of the first cosmonauts landing site.

We are proud that Gagarins spacecraft Vostok and the launch vehicle of the same name were built within the walls of our company by a team led by the outstanding man, the Chief Designer of rocket and space technology Sergei Pavlovich Korolev.

Sergei Korolev used to say: What seemed impossible for ages, what was just a daring dream yesterday, today becomes a realistic challenge, and tomorrow an achievement.

The first manned mission into space gave a powerful boost to the further rapid development of space flight.

We have ahead of us big, but interesting challenges! I have no doubt that we will overcome all the difficulties, well manage to cope with anything. Our best card in this big space game is our huge scientific, production and creative potential.

I would like to thank the veterans, those who were making history with their own hands, for creating, keeping safe and leaving to us the inheritance of the powerful high-technology company. You taught us to work, to treasure the achievements of the past and build upon them the space future of Russia.

And this future will be built by our great young people. We do our best to attract to the space industry young and promising specialists.

April 12 is our professional holiday, the holiday of the entire rocket and space industry! I congratulate you on the Cosmonautics Day! I wish you robust health, self-belief, success in your creative efforts!
