RSC ENERGIA: ANGOSAT SC: COMMUNICATIONS RE-ESTABLISHED

RSC Energia specialists have received telemetry data from Angosat spacecraft which was launched on December 26 by an integrated launch vehicle Zenit-3SLBF from Baikonur cosmodrome.
Telemetry data have been received from the satellite, which show that all parameters of the onboard systems of the spacecraft are within nominal range.

On December 26, 2017, at 22:00 Moscow Time, the integrated launch vehicle Zenit-3SLBF carrying Angosat spacecraft (SC) was normally launched from the launch pad of Area 45 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
The Angosat SC was put into its target orbit on time and established communications, but after some time telemetry data stopped to come in.

On December 26, 2017, at 22:00 Moscow Time, the integrated launch vehicle Zenit-3SLBF carrying Angosat spacecraft (SC) was launched from the launch pad of Area 45 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
The upper stage Fregat-SB carrying Angosat SC separated from the launch vehicle on time.
Angosat spacecraft (SC) was made at RSC Energia under a contract with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Angola and is built around a new satellite bus constructed out of Russian-made components.

December 24, 2017, at Baikonur launch site the launch vehicle Zenit-2SB with upper stage Fregat-SB intended for putting the Angosat spacecraft into orbit was rolled out to the launch pad of Area 45.
After completing operations to erect the launch vehicle on the launch pad, joint crews from companies in the rocket and space industry proceeded with operations under the schedule of the first launch day.

The space lesson was organized by RSC Energia, administration of Tomsk region, Tomsk State Pedagogical University and an affiliate of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company - STVRC Tomsk.

In Baikonur Launch Site specialists from RSC Energia, S.A.Lavochkin NPO and branch TsENKI of Space Center "Yuzhny" continue the Angosat Spacecraft prelaunch processing.
On December 19, 2017 Zenit-3SLVF intergated launch vehicle assembly operations are completed. A set of electrical tests of the intergrated launch vehicle is in progress. The roll-out to the launch pad is scheduled for Sunday 24, 2017.

On December 16, 2017 assembly teams of RSC Energia, S.A.Lavochkin NPO and branch TsENKI of Space Center "Yuzhny" completed assembly of the ascent unit for launch of the integrated launch vehicle (ILV) consisting of Zenit-2SB launch vehicle, Fregat-SB upper stage and Angosat telecommunication spacecraft (SC) in the integration and test facility of Site 31 of the Baikonur Launch Site.
After performing preparatory operations the Angosat SC and Fregat-SB US were placed in a horizontal position, and the payload fairing was installed.

On December 17, 2017 at 10:21 Moscow time the integrated launch vehicle with Soyuz MS-07 spacecraft was successfully launched from launch pad 5 of site 1 (Gagarins launch pad) of Baikonur cosmodrome. The spacecraft is carrying onboard the ISS-54/55 long-duration expedition crewmembers - ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut Anton SHKAPLEROV (crew commander), NASA astronaut Scott TINGLE and JAXA astronaut Norishige KANAI (flight engineers).

On December 16, 2017, a press conference of the prime and backup crews of Soyuz MS-07 transport manned spacecraft was held. The cosmonauts and astronauts answered questions from journalists and told about their plans for the upcoming expedition to the International Space Station (ISS), as well as how they are going to celebrate the New Year.
Earlier, the State Commission approved the spacecraft crews. The prime crew consisted of SC commander, ISS-54 flight engineer and ISS-55 commander, Anton SHKAPLEROV, ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut (Russia), SC and ISS-54/55 flight engineers, Scott TINGL, NASA astronaut (USA), and Norishige KANAI, JAXA astronaut (Japan). The backup crew consists of Sergey PROKOPIEV, ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut (Russia), Alexander GERST, ESA astronaut (Germany) and Janet EPPS, NASA astronaut (USA).

Today on December 16, the State Commission on Baikonur cosmodrome approved the assignments of the prime and backup crews of Soyuz MS-07 and confirmed the readiness of Soyuz-FG/Soyuz MS-07 rocket and space complex and ground infrastructure for the launch under the ISS program.
The Expedition 54/55 crew (ISS-54/55) consists of ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut Anton SHKAPLEROV, NASA astronaut Scott TINGLE and JAXA astronaut Norishige KANAI. The backup crewmembers are ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut Sergey PROKOPIEV, NASA astronaut Jeanette EPPS and ESA astronaut Alexander GERST.

Today, on December 14, the representatives of the Technical Management and State Commission on Baikonur cosmodrome issued a decision on readiness of the rocket and space complex consisting of manned spacecraft Soyuz S-07 and launch vehicle Soyuz-FG for roll-out and erection on the launch pad.
In the course of the day RSC Energia specialists successfully performed a set of process operations on the final assembly of the rocket and space complex: the nose assembly with the spacecraft was mated to the third stage of the rocket in the integration and checkout facility of launch vehicles.

Today on December 13, the payload module of launch vehicle Soyuz-FG with spacecraft Soyuz MS-07 was transported from the spacecraft assembly and testing facility (SC ATF) to the launch vehicle integration and test facility (LV ITF) for final assembly.
According to the processing operations schedule, the final assembly of launch vehicle Soyuz FG with the payload module and the State Commission session are planned for tomorrow, and on Saturday, December 15 ILV Soyuz will be rolled out to the launch pad.
