MAKS-2013

In Zhukovsky, Moscow region, the 11th International Aerospace Show (MAKS-2013), which was held August 27 through September 1, has completed its work.

S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia and academician V.P. Glushko NPO Energomash, for which the Corporation was designated as the managing company, were exhibiting in one booth within the framework of the exposition presented in Hall D1 by companies and organizations of the Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos).

On August 27, the Roscosmos exhibition hall and its section prepared by RSC Enenrgia was visited by the Russian Federation Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev.

The joint exhibition stand prepared by the two leading companies of our country's rocket and space industry, was a continuous focus of attention for a great number of visitors, among whom there were representatives of business circles, managers and specialists from aviation and space companies of Russia and other countries, scientists, students from Russian and foreign universities, journalists, veterans of the industry, aerospace aficionados.

Visitors to the air show showed interest in the historical exhibit - the life-size mockup of the first artificial Earth satellite ('Sputnik'); in the present-day products represented by the descent vehicle of the manned spacecraft Soyuz TMA, which had been to space, small scale models of the International Space Station, the Launch Platform and the Assembly and Command Ship of the Sea Launch project; mockups of liquid propulsion engines RD-171, RD-180 and RD-191. All the visitors to the booth showed particular interest in the full-scale design and layout mockup of the re-entry vehicle of the new-generation manned transportation spacecraft and some fragments of this spacecraft structure.

Explanations to the visitors to the exhibit were given by managers, lead specialists of the company and cosmonauts.

RSC Energia senior managers and leading specialists held a number of business meetings at the air show with senior managers and representatives of Russian and foreign companies and partner organizations. Discussed at these meetings were the issues involved in the current and future work on the development, operation and use of the rocket and space technology, and the ways of mutually beneficial cooperation were outlined. Agreements have been signed to develop cooperation between Russian and foreign companies and organizations.
