Technical Research on ISS Russian Segment
Experiment DHL-G
DHL-G experiment is included in the research program conducted onboard the ISS Russian Segment by spaceflight participant Richard Garriott within the framework of the GTA project.
Objective:
Demonstration of the energy conservation law in microgravity environment, taking the movement of two objects as an example.
Task:
Recording on video the demonstration of the energy conservation law in microgravity environment on ISS RS.
Science Hardware Used:

- DHL kit, includes the equipment for the demonstration of energy conservation law
when potential energy is converted into kinetic energy.
|

DHL demonstration equipment ready-assembled
The demonstration equipment includes:
- trolley;
- rails with fasteners;
- pusher with a protective cover.
|
The trolleys are two identical structures made of polycarbonate and of the same mass.
The rails are two aluminum guides shaped into a loop.
The pusher with a protective cover is a starting device designed to set into motion both trolleys
simultaneously by giving them a push with a force of 4 kg.
Flight Equipment Used:
- Nikon D3 camera;
- Sony HVR-Z7 video camera for taking accompanying photos and videos.
Experiment Results:
Photographic and video information recorded on a flash video card and a video cassette.
