Human Life Research on ISS Russian Segment

MOP-I Experiment

Experiment MOP-I forms part of the scientific research program performed by Italian Astronaut Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the ISS in the frame of ENEIDE ISM Project. The European Space Agency is a customer of the preparation and implementation of the research program.

Objective:

Have an idea about the process of vestibular adaptation to a change of gravity nature.

Task:

Assess the degree of vestibular adaptation by defining an individual perception of motion.

Science Hardware Used:

  • Questionnaire with a set of forms.

Experiment Results:

Questionnaire sheets filled by the astronaut during a 10-day mission describing his sense of motions as a result of the head motions with the indication of presence or absence of discomfort in a daily life linked to a space adaptation syndrome.
