ETD-1 Experiment


Experiment ETD-1 forms part of the scientific research program performed by Italian Astronaut Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the ISS in the frame of ENEIDE ISM Project. The European Space Agency is a customer of the preparation and implementation of the research program.



Objective:

Investigate vestibular-ocular-motor orientation under microgravity conditions.

Task:

Measure eyes and head motions using the eye tracking device, record and store the experiment data.

Science Hardware Used:

ETD hardware including:

  • ETD System unit consisting of a dedicated computer and built-in power supply
  • ETD Head unit representing a light-weight removable measuring unit secured on the subjects head and having information and electrical interfaces with the system unit.
  • Pouche ETD Accessories.

Support Facilities:

  • Camera Nikon D1X.

Consumables:

  • Container ETD hard disk to record and store the experiment results.

Experiment Results:

Data recorded on the hard disk.
