ARISS-4 Experiment
Experiment ARISS-4 forms part of the educational and humanitarian program performed by Italian Astronaut
Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the Russian Segment of the ISS in the frame of ENEIDE
ISM Project, and is an extension of experiments EDUCATION
(Odissea Project), ARISS-2
(SSM Cervantes Project) and ARISS-3
(DSM Delta Project). The European Space Agency is a customer
of the preparation and implementation of the research program.
Objective:
Carrying out the ARISS community activity, aiming at building, developing and maintaining the amateur
radio communication, using the Sputnik-CM system onboard the ISS.
Task:
Providing real-time radio transmission from the ISS, during which pupils and students in selected
Italian schools will put questions to the Italian astronaut.
Used Science Hardware:
Flight Amateur Radio equipment (Sputnik-CM system) consisting of:
- Radio stations;
- Packet module;
- Adapter;
- Set of cables.
Experiment Results:
Real-time talks conducted during radio amateur sessions.
