RSC Energia: cargo vehicle Progress MS-12 is launched to the ISS

Today, on July 31, Progress MS-12 cargo transport vehicle (CTV) developed and manufactured by RSC Energia was successfully launched to the International Space Station (ISS).

Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the cargo vehicle was launched from Launch Pad No. 31 of the Baikonur launch site at 15:10:46 Moscow time. According to telemetry information, the separation of the vehicle from the 3rd Stage of the launch vehicle passed normally as scheduled. The deployment of antennas and solar arrays was recorded. The vehicle was under control of specialists of the Lead Operational Control Team of the International Space Station Russian Segment (LOCT ISS RS) at MCC.

Progress MS-12 shall deliver to the ISS 1.2 tons of dry cargo, more than one ton of propellant in the refueling system tanks, 420 kg of water in Rodnik system tanks, as well as 50 kg of compressed gas in bottles. Stowed in the cargo vehicle are science equipment, components for the life support system and also containers with food products, clothing, drugs, personal hygiene means for the crewmembers.

The automatic docking of the cargo vehicle with the ISS docking compartment is scheduled for July 31, at 18:35 Moscow time.
