![]() NewsLogistics spacecraft Progress MS-12 mated to adapter sectionJuly 23, 2019Today, July 23, specialists from RSC Energia and core enterprises of Roscosmos working at the Baikonur launch site successfully completed the sequence of operations to mate a cargo transportation spacecraft (CTS) Progress MS-12 to the adapter section. The spacecraft preparations for the launch under the International Space Station (ISS) program are being performed at the spacecraft processing facility at the Baikonur launch site. The day before, July 22, specialists from RSC Energia completed loading the spacecraft with cargoes needed to operate the International Space Station in manned mode. Progress MS-12 is to deliver to the ISS 1.2 tons of dry cargo, more than a ton of propellant in the refueling system tanks, 420 kg of water in the Rodnik system tanks, as well as 50 kg of compressed gas in canisters. Stowed in the cargo compartment are scientific instruments, components for the life support system, as well as containers with food, clothing, medical supplies and personal hygiene items for the crew. According to the schedule of the spacecraft pre-launch processing, on Wednesday, July 24, the spacecraft will undergo a designer’s inspection and will be encapsulated into the payload fairing. The launch of Protress MS-12 logistics spacecraft is scheduled for July 31, 2019.
