The Rocket with Soyuz MS-07 is admitted for installation on the launch pad

December 14, 2017

Today, on December 14, the representatives of the Technical Management and State Commission on Baikonur cosmodrome issued a decision on readiness of the rocket and space complex consisting of manned spacecraft Soyuz МS-07 and launch vehicle Soyuz-FG for roll-out and erection on the launch pad.

In the course of the day RSC Energia specialists successfully performed a set of process operations on the final assembly of the rocket and space complex: the nose assembly with the spacecraft was mated to the third stage of the rocket in the integration and checkout facility of launch vehicles.

The launch vehicle and Soyuz MS-07 roll-out from the integration and checkout facility and its erection on the launch pad of cosmodrome Baikonur will take place tomorrow on December 15.

The launch of Soyuz MS-07 with the crew of the next long-duration expedition to the International Space Station is scheduled for December 17, 2017 at 10:21 Moscow Time from Launch Pad No.1 (Gagarin’s launch pad).

ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut Anton SHKAPLEROV, NASA astronaut Scott TINGLE and JAXA astronaut Norishige KANAI are crewmembers of the ISS-54/55 Expedition.

The transport manned vehicle Soyuz MS developed and built by RSC Energia is designed to deliver the crews of up to three and their accompanying cargos to the International Space Station (ISS), as well as to return them to Earth. When attached to the ISS, it also serves as a crew rescue vehicle and is kept permanently ready for emergency crew return to Earth.
