Expedition 51/52 (ISS-51/52)

KEY MISSION TASKS OF EXPEDITION ISS-51
(April 11 - June 2, 2017)

  • Launch of one ISS-51/52 Russian crewmember and one NASA ISS-51/52 Expedition crewmember by spacecraft Soyuz MS-04;
  • Docking of Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft to Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM2);
  • Docking of Cygnus OA-7 to Node1-Nadir using SSRMS;
  • Operational support for loading and undocking of Soyuz MS spacecraft from Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1) (return of three ISS-50/51 Expedition crewmembers);
  • Performance of two USOS-based EVAs;
  • Support of the Space Station functionality;
  • Work on the re-equipping of the ISS RS;
  • Performance of the science and application research program and experiments;
  • Conduct of the onboard photos, video imagery of the ISS RS flight history and performing operations under the symbolic activity program.

The ISS-51 crew consists of 3 persons (April 10 - April 20, 2017), 5 persons (April 20, 2017 - June 2, 2017).

KEY MISSION TASKS OF EXPEDITION ISS-52
(June 2 - September 3, 2017)

  • Docking of Dragon SpX-11 vehicle to Node2-Nadir;
  • Loading and undocking of Dragon SpX-11 vehicle from Node2-Nadir;
  • Docking of Dragon SpX-12 vehicle to Node2-Nadir and its unloading (to be determined);
  • Loading of waste and undocking of Progress MS-05 vehicle;
  • Loading and undocking of Cygnus OA-7 vehicle from Node1-Nadir;
  • Docking of Progress MS-06 vehicle to Pirs DC1 and its unloading;
  • Loading and undocking of Dragon SpX-12 vehicle from Node2-Nadir (to be determined);
  • Launch of one ISS-51/52 Russian crewmember, one NASA crewmember and one EKA crewmember of ISS-52/53 Expedition by spacecraft Soyuz MS-05;
  • Docking of Soyuz MS-05 spacecraft to Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1);
  • Operational support for loading and undocking of Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft from Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM2) (return of two ISS-51/52 Expedition crewmembers);
  • Performance of one RSOS-based EVA;
  • Support of the Space Station functionality;
  • Work on the re-equipping of the ISS RS;
  • Performance of the science and application research program and experiments;
  • Conduct of the onboard photos, video imagery of the ISS RS flight history and performing operations under the symbolic activity program.

The ISS-52 crew consists of 3 persons (June 2 - July 28, 2017), 6 persons (July 29, 2017 - September 3, 2017).
