Crew of Soyuz MS arrived at Baikonur

June 24, 2015

Members of the main and backup crews of Soyuz MS manned transportation spacecraft arrived at the Baikonur launch site for further prelaunch preparations.

The main crew consists of Anatoli Ivanishin (Roscosmos, Russia), Takuya Onishi (JAXA, Japan) and Kathleen Rubins (NASA, USA). The backup crew consists of Oleg Novitskiy (Roscosmos, Russia), Thomas Pesquet (ESA, France) and Peggy Whitson (NASA, USA).

Commanders of the crews reported on their readiness for preflight training and acceptance of Soyuz MS spacecraft.

The launch of the Soyuz MS spacecraft with the crew of the next expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for July 7, 2016 from Area No.1 (Gagarins launch pad) of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
