Expedition 47/48 (ISS-47/48)

MAIN TASKS OF THE INCREMENT
IN THE ISS-47 PHASE
(March 2 - June 18, 2016)

  • Launch of two Russian crewmembers and one NASA crewmember of ISS-47/48 Expedition crewmember by vehicle Soyuz -20;
  • Docking of Soyuz TMA-20M to Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM-2);
  • Berthing and unloading of Cygnus OA-6 to Node1-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Final unloading, loading and undocking of Progress -29 from IC of SM Zvezda;
  • Docking of Progress MC-02 to IC of SM Zvezda and its partial unloading;
  • Docking of Dragon SpX-8 to Node2-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Undocking of Dragon SpX-8 from Node2-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Loading and undocking of Cygnus OA-6 from Node1-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Operational support for unloading and undocking of Soyuz -19 from Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM-1) (return of three ISS -46/47 Expedition crewmembers);
  • Support of the Space Station functionality;
  • Performance of science and application research program and experiments;
  • Conduct of photo and video imagery of the ISS RS flight and symbolic activity program.

The ISS-47 crew consists of 3 persons (March 2 - March 19, 2016), 6 persons (March 19 - June 18, 2016).

 

MAJOR INCREMENT TASKS
IN THE ISS-48 PHASE
(June 18 September 7, 2016)

  • Final unloading, waste loading of Progress MS vehicle;
  • Unberthing and re-berthing of Progress MS vehicle for teleoperator control mode test;
  • Undocking of Progress MS from Module Pirs (DC1);
  • Launch of one Russian crewmember and two NASA crewmembers of ISS-48/49 Expedition by Soyuz MS spacecraft;
  • Docking of the Soyuz MS spacecraft to Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1);
  • Docking to Module Pirs (DC1) and partial unloading of Progress MS-03 vehicle;
  • Docking and unloading of Dragon SpX-9 to Node2-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Undocking of Dragon SpX-9 from Node2-Nadir using SSRMS manipulator;
  • Performance of two USOS based EVAs;
  • Operational support for loading and undocking of Soyuz TMA-20M from Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM2)
    (return of three crewmembers of the ISS-47/48 Expedition);
  • Support of the Space Station functionality;
  • Performance of science and application research program and experiments;
  • Conduct of onboard photo and video imagery of the ISS RS flight history and performing of operations under the symbolic activities program.

The ISS-48 Expedition consists of 3 crewmembers (June 18 July 9, 2016), 6 crewmembers (July 9 September 7, 2016).
