Fifteenth Russian Visiting Crew

 

Launch:
  On October 12, 2008, at 11:01 Moscow Time (07:01 UTC), a launch vehicle Soyuz-FG launched Russian manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-13.
Launch Site:
  Baikonur launch site, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Docking:
  On October 14, 2008, at 12:26:14 Moscow Time (08:26:14 UTC) to the docking port on the Functional and Cargo Module Zarya of the ISS.
Undocking:
  On October 24, 04:16:18 Moscow Time (00:16:18 UTC) Soyuz TMA-12 undocked from the docking compartment Pirs of the ISS.
Landing:
  On October 24 at 07:37:10 Moscow Time (03:37:10 UTC).
Landing Site:
  In an area located 89 km to the north of Arkalyk, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Flight duration:
  11 days 20 hours 35 minutes 37 seconds.

 

MAJOR INCREMENT TASKS

  • Launch of Richard Garriot, visiting crew VC-15 space flight participant, citizen of the USA, on board the Soyuz TMA-13 manned vehicle;
  • Unloading of the Soyuz TMA-13 transport vehicle;
  • Handover/acceptance of Soyuz vehicles during scheduled replacement of Soyuz TMA-12 vehicle performing the rescue vehicle functions as part of the ISS since April 10, 2008;
  • Performance of the program of experiments under the GTA project onboard the ISS;
  • Performance of photography and video filming on board the ISS RS for education purposes;
  • Communications operation using Sputnik-SM radar;
  • Activities on information of the public and symbolic operation;
  • Communications operation with the Russian Mission Control Center;
  • Servicing of the Soyuz TMA transport vehicle systems;
  • Visiting crew life support on ISS RS;
  • ISS emergency drill walk;
  • Return of equipment to the Soyuz TMA-12 transport vehicle;
  • Return to earth of Richard Garriott, the space flight participant, and two crew members of the ISS-17 Sergey Volkov and Oleg Kononenko in the Soyuz TMA-12 descent vehicle.
