Soyuz TMA-1 crew prior to boarding their spacecraftToday at 6 hours 11 minutes 11 seconds Moscow Time (3:11:11 a.m. GMT), the Russian Soyuz TMA manned transport vehicle was launched by the Souyz-FG rocket from Baikonur cosmodrome.

Soyuz-FG LV on the launch padAt 5:00 a.m. Moscow time launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMĀ-1 spacecraft was transferred from Assembly and Testing Facility to launch site. The Soyuz-FG - Soyuz TMA system was erected on the launcher.

In the LV processing facility, the orbital module was integrated with the launch vehicle.
At 15 hours Moscow time, a meeting of the State Board and the Technical Management was held where a decision was made to roll out the launch vehicle carrying Soyuz TMA-1 to the launch pad.

Orbital module of the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle, containing Soyuz TMA-1 spacecraft was transported from the spacecraft processing facility to the launch vehicle processing facility for integration.

VC-4 crews arrived to the BaikonurCosmonauts S. Zaletin, Yu. Lonchakov and A.Lazutkin, and Belgian ESA astronaut F. De Winne, members of the prime and backup crews of the fourth Russian visiting crew mission to the ISS, arrived to the launch site to immediate training for the flight to the ISS scheduled on October 30.

S.P. Korolev RSC Energia specialists conducted training session at Yu.A. Gagarin CTC RGNII under the scientific experimental program with the Russian cosmonauts S.V. Zaletin, Yu.V. Lonchakov, A.I. Lazutkin and Frank de Winne, ESA astronaut of Belgian nationality being members of the prime and backup crews of the fourth visiting crew (VC-4) to the International Space Station. Specific features of some experiments were studied, and distribution of functional duties of the crew in the course of the implementation of the scientific program was clarified.
