Rocket-Space corporation after S.P. Korolev, science city
Korolev and city of Moscow held ceremonial events in celebration
of the 103rd anniversary of the birth of academician Sergei
Pavlovich Korolev (12.01.1907 - 14.01.1966), the outstanding
scientist, manager and founder of practical cosmonautics,
General Designer of rocket-space systems, founder of the
Corporation.
Traditionally, on his birthday a ceremony of awarding prize winners and participants of the contest of young scientists and specialists from the municipal scientific-production complex enterprises is held for winning the prize after academician S.P. Korolev for the previous year.
At the ceremony held today in the Corporation Museum, diplomas and medals of the contest prize winners for the year 2009 were issued to:
- V.Y. Paukov (1st Prize), RSC Energia's Experimental Machinebuilding Plant;
- I.V. Tuzov and Y.O. Pashkova (2nd Prize) for the jointly-performed work, TsNII of Machinebuilding;
- A.M. Annenkov (3rd Prize), NPO IT;
- M.V. Kovalevich (3rd Prize), corporation TRV;
- A.A. Belostotskaya (incentive bonus), Corporation TRV.
Contest winners and participants were congratulated by A.F. Morozenko and I.A. Tsvetkov from the science city; V.A. Lopota from RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev, his daughter N.S. Koroleva from Sergei Pavlovich's family. They wished young scientists and specialists further creative successes.
Then the managers and representatives of the team from RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev, representatives of the Korolev's Administration and public, the Corporation veterans of work, associates of S.P. Korolev, cosmonauts of RSC Energia's Corps put wreaths on the memorial plaques and monuments built in honour of the outstanding scientist and designer on the Corporation premises and in the city of Korolev.
Also flowers were put at the monument in honour of S.P. Korolev on the territory of the Central Museum of Cosmonautics and at the Kremlin wall, Burial place of Sergei Pavlovich.

- City prize after academician S.P. Korolev is established by the Administration of science city Korolev and is given annually by the results of the contest committee activities.
- 12 scientific papers were submitted by young scientists and specialists of the city scientific-production complex enterprises to the contest, which had been the 11th contest in 2009.
