The editorial office of Rossyiskaya Gazeta (Russian Gazette) was the venue of a meeting between newsmen and representatives of the leading Russian organization involved in manned space flight to discuss the subject "Manned Space Flight: What Kind of Reforms Does It Need?"
Taking part in the meeting were the Head of the Manned Space Flight Office of the Federal Space Agency A.B.Krasnov, Deputy Commander of the cosmonaut corps of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, pilot-cosmonaut Yu.M.Baturin, leading specialists from S.P.Korolev RSC Energia: First Deputy General Designer pilot cosmonaut V.A.Soloviev, Deputy General Designer pilot cosmonaut S.K.Krikalev and cosmonaut tester of the Corporation cosmonaut corps M.V.Tyurin.
The newspaper's deputy editor-in-chief Ya.B.Yuferova, staff members of the newspaper's science and education department N.V. Yachmennikova, Yu.A. Medvedev and I.B. Ivoilova talked with the participants in the meeting about the current situation in Russian and world manned space flight, space exploration objectives, practical applications for man's work in orbit, a possible course of reform to achieve a more efficient Russian activity in space, first of all in manned space flight.
The publication of an article in the Rossyiskaya Gazeta based on the results of the meeting is expected in late January - early February 2009.
