On May 27, 2007, in the framework of City Day celebration in St. Petersburg in the solemn atmosphere Petersburg Parliament Speaker Vadim Tyulpanov presented Korolev RSC Energia Vice-President, pilot-cosmonaut Sergei Konstantinovich Krikalev with St. Petersburg Honorary Freeman diploma and certificate.

S.K. Krikalev was born in the city on the Neva River on August 27, 1958. Upon graduation from the Leningrad Mechanical Institute in 1981 he started working for Korolev RSC Energia.
USSR pilot-cosmonaut. He made six space flights.
He worked in space 803 days 09 hours 42 minutes and 00 sec; made 8 spacewalks with a total duration of 41 hours 26 minutes.
Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia Vice-President Sergei Krikalev is a highly qualified specialist recognized by foreign colleagues and specialists in the field of the manned space exploration.
Hero of the Soviet Union (1989) and the Russian Federation (1992).
Awarded the Orders of Lenin (1989), People’s Friendship (1992), Honor (1998, for high sports achievements in the First World Air Games), "For Service to the Country of IV degree" (2002), Eagle of I degree (1992, RF Manufacturers’ Association), Legion of Honor (1989, France); the medals the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union (1989), the Gold Star of the Hero of the Russian Federation (1992), "In Memory of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg" (2005), "For Space Flight" (1994, 1998, 2001 NASA), "For Distinguished Service".
