At the International Space Station (ISS) during a period
of 13:12 to 18:52, Moscow Dayllight Saving Time, the second
EVA was performed from the Russian module Pirs.
The EVA objective was the science equipment installation
on the outer surface of Russian Service Module Zvezda.
In the course of operations performed by Russian cosmonauts
V. Dezhurov and M. Turin the following was installed on
the Zvezda module: the load-bearing truss with attached
Japan science equipment MPAC&SEED - in the working compartment
zone, a board with exposed samples - on the propulsion compartment
near the altitude control thrusters . Also the Flag sample
was dismantled and Kodak logotype was installed. Cosmonauts
took photographs of the performed activity results.
Commander of ISS-3 crew, US astronaut F. Calbertson monitored
the performance of these operations from inside the station,
and supervised them in accordance with onboard documentation.
Upon the EVA completion the space station systems were returned
to their initial condition.
According to reports of the crew and Lead Operations Control
Team (LOCT), which monitored and controlled the ISS flight
from the Mission Control Center near Moscow (MCC-M), the
crew's state of health was normal and ISS onboard systems
performed as designed.
