OBJECTIVE:
Determine if the inhibition of protein kinase C (PKC) isoform
signalling in human monocytes impairs monocyte differentiation.
TASK:
Characterize the microgravity effect on the activation of PKC
isoforms and their spatial distribution.
EXPERIMENT RESULTS:
PKN return containers (8).
EXPECTED RESULTS:
- Determine the microgravity effect on PKC regulated genes controlling
monocyte differentiation, initiation of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.
- Prophylaxis of possible damage of a human immune system
in spaceflight.
