Experiment ASIA forms part of the scientific research program performed by Italian Astronaut Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the Russian Segment of the ISS in the frame of ENEIDE ISM Project. The European Space Agency is a customer of the preparation and implementation of the research program.

USED SCIENCE HARDWARE:

• ASIA Pouch consisting of

• ASIA unit
  representing an electronic board located inside a metallic container (minicrate PEERŪ) which protects the board against all possible damages during its transportation and storage.
• ASIA memory card.

SUPPORT FACILITIES:

• Camera Nikon D1X.

CONSUMABLES:

• Memory card for photos.

PURPOSE:

Evaluate the radiation sensitivity of the electronics board in space environment on space vehicles (Progress, Soyuz) and ISS.

OBJECTIVE:

Exposure of the electronic board on the ISS RS.

EXPERIMENT RESULTS:

ASIA Unit with the electronic board returned to the ground after its exposure on the ISS RS and hardware photos.
