FLIGHT EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Angular rate vector gyrometer;
  • Fixed star meter
    to measure angular rates and station location.
 

OBJECTIVE:

Development test of the techniques defining and updating ISS dynamic characteristics required for improvement of attitude determination accuracy, prediction of the onboard systems functionality and qualitative performance and analysis of science experiments.

TASKS:

  • Reception of integrated information from the ISS guidance navigation and control system (GNC) sensors and TV cameras of spacecraft maneuvering near the ISS (Shuttle, Soyuz, Progress) to determine dynamic characteristics of the ISS (ratios of moments of inertia, aerodynamic characteristics, center of gravity of the ISS, etc.).
  • Updating of mathematical models of the ISS onboard systems used for flight control.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Updating of the ISS dynamic characteristics.
