HBM EXPERIMENT

Experiment HBM forms part of the scientific research program performed by Italian Astronaut Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the Russian Segment of the ISS in the frame of ENEIDE ISM Project. The European Space Agency is a customer of the preparation and implementation of the research program.

USED SCIENCE HARDWARE:

HBM Pouch

  • HBM belt with sensors
    Specifically developed experiment belt with attached sensors and the analog to digital interface.
  • HBM cable
  • HBM memory card
  • HBM video tape

USED SERVICE EQUIPMENT:

  • A31P laptop (assembled with cables)

SUPPORT FACILITIES:

  • Camcorder DSR PD-150P.
  

PURPOSE:

Development of ‘intelligent’ clothing for astronauts, capable of checking their life functions, using devices to allow the free motion onboard.

OBJECTIVE:

Measurements to monitor heart beat rate.

EXPERIMENT RESULTS:

  • Information obtained in the course of measuring the astronaut heart beat recorded on PCMCIA card
  • Video tape with the experiment run
