HUMAN LIFE RESEARCH
DSM Delta Project MUSCLE EXPERIMENT
Experiment MUSCLE is a part of the scientific research
program to be conducted by ESA astronaut of the Dutch
nationality Andre Kuipers onboard the ISS RS in the
frame of DSM
Delta Project. The European Space Agency is a
customer of the preparation and implementation of
the research program.
USED SCIENCE HARDWARE:
Crew logbook with a set of questions for daily recording of
subjective low back pain experienced by the astronaut
during a day.
PURPOSE:
Assessment of astronaut deep muscle corset atrophy
in response to microgravity exposure.
OBJECTIVE:
Assessment and recording of development of low back
pain by astronaut.
