08/29/2003 Baikonur Cosmodrome
The
Progress M-48 transport cargo vehicle has been put into
a near-earth orbit. The start of the vehicle as part of
the Soyuz-U/Progress M-48 rocket-space complex is performed
from the Baikonur cosmodrome at 05:47:59 Moscow Summer time.
The launch objective is to deliver needed cargoes to the
International Space Station (ISS) to continue its functioning.
The launch is performed in line with the Russian party commitments
on the ISS project and its flight program.
The Progress M-48 cargo vehicle docking with the ISS is
scheduled to occur on August 31, 2003 at 07:44 a.m. Moscow
Summer Time.
08/27/2003 Baikonur Cosmodrome
At 5:00 a.m. Moscow Time, the transporter with the Soyuz-U
launch vehicle and the Progress M1-10 spacecraft left the
Assembly and Testing Facility and arrived to the launch
pad for the final pre-launch processing. The Soyuz-U - Progress
M-48 system was erected on the launcher.

In the LV processing facility, the orbital module was integrated
with the launch vehicle. A meeting of the State Board and
the Technical Management was held where a decision was made
to roll out the launch vehicle carrying the Progress M-48
to the launch pad.
