09/25/2002 Baikonur cosmodrome
In
accordance with the International Space Station (ISS) mission
plan, logistics vehicle Progress M1-9 has been put into
a low Earth orbit.
The vehicle was launched at 20:58:24, Moscow daylight saving
time.
The objective of the launch is logistics support of the
Station and conducting tests of the rendezvous system Kurs
installed on the Russian module Zvezda and on the logistics
vehicle, while flying to the Station.

Processing of the Progress M1-9 transport cargo vehicle
is in progress for launch to the ISS.
The launcher with the Progress M1-9 cargo vehicle was rolled
out from Assembly and Test Building, delivered to the launching
area and erected on the launch pad.

Progress M1-9 cargo vehicle has been integrated with the
launch vehicle in Launch Vehicle Assembly and Testing Facility.

The Intergovermental Commitee and Technical Management
decided to roll out the launcher with the Progress M1-9
transport cargo vehicle from the integration and test facility
to the launch pad on September 23, 2002.

Payload shroud roll on to the Progress M1-9 spacecraft was
completed in the Assembly and Test Facility.
